Wind Locked is not against Wind Energy. Members believe science will produce a cleaner more efficient way to produce power to large cities. Right now the massive power lines that just went up in our area lead to Chicago over 400 miles away (large masses of steel poles and concrete). Ironic, now the large wind developers are wanting to place their million dollar assets on our productive farmland. We use aerial planes to protect our crops. 400′ towers of metal would make it difficult and dangerous for our local pilots, who have families, to maneuver around. We also have numerous American Eagles who nest along the Blue Earth River and changing our rural landscape would have its detriments not only to nesting birds but to our productive soil structure, system tile for drainage and the future of our landowners (or children) not having to worry about hitting a buried electrified cable underground.

We believe there will be alternatives in the future. Perhaps the future is already here?
