Rural Residents and Landowners need a stronger voice.

In Wind Locked LLC,  the members ARE the Landowners and Rural homeowners of the projected wind “farm” area, because together they can have more power than the power lines.

In 2016 Minnesota Legislation was updated making wind separate from the land rights. The air flowing over one’s property is a right. “Any property owner may grant a solar or wind easement in the same manner and with the same effect as a conveyance of an interest in real property.” Wind Locked, LLC was formed by the landowners, who are also members, holding their wind rights together. Together they have created a whirlWIND of trust and protection. The Landowners keep all rights to their land; Wind Locked is only holding the wind above the land.  They are still able to increase a grain leg, or plant a tree.  Wind Locked is preserving and protecting the airspace.

If you are interested in setting up a WIND LOCKED, LLC in your area, please contact us. We are here to help and inform you.

WIND LOCK’S 2018 Campaign will be titled: KEEP ‘EM FLYING!  That goes for the crop dusting planes that protect our crops, and the numerous Eagles that live around the Blue Earth River. Members are all about their local soil and wind conservation. Farmers care about their investment in tile and productive topsoil, rural homes and land values.

Also, take a look at where this Power Line expansion is going…Be in the KNOW! Please note that these Large Industrial lines are coming in BEFORE the Wind Turbines in S. Central MN ie. Faribault, Martin, and Blue Earth County.   Not the opposite.

We are NOT against wind or solar energy, but we believe it needs to make economic and environmental sense. We believe there will be better technology in the future than these Giant 747s blades, and towers of metal taller than the Foshay Tower in Downtown Minneapolis (also WTGs take an enormous amount of fossil fuels to build). Also the blades and many of the rare earth materials used to make the generator CANNOT BE RECYCLED!  The Metric TONS of Gear Oil needed every year to keep the blades spinning is unreal! They have Miles and miles of Copper wire, to the tune of $20K per 1.5 MW! We do not want these placed on our productive Agricultural Land and next to rural living residents; To us, these are industrial and should be zoned and taxed as such.  We believe in saving rural home property values, protecting our drainage tile, protecting our avians/aerial applicators and still retaining our Land Easement Rights to our property for years to come.  The Payment they say they are paying is not enough!  What will that payment look like in 35 years?  These “leases” blanket your entire land parcel and it is filed for 25-35+ years and some maybe perpetual!  Educate your fellow landowners. You worked hard for your land; think before you place a Companies foreign asset, concrete and underground wires on your property for 35+ years.  Be Informed. Take a look at Iowa States research!
